Public Involvement Period for Student Assignment Plans Runs Oct 6. - Nov. 18

Student Assignment Plan

October 6 - November 18 marks the public involvement period for the final phase of the District's new Student Assignment Plan.  This final phase consists of introducing and approving new attendance area boundary maps for the city, to be enacted for the 2010-11 school year assignment process. There are many District-sponsored meetings planned and opportunities for learning about the boundaries.

Currently the maps are scheduled to be released to the public after 4pm on Tuesday October 6th, concurrent with the start time of the Board Workshop, where District administrative staff present the maps to the Board for the first time.  Note Board workshops do not include public comment periods.  Wednesday October 7th the Board will hold it's regular twice-monthly meeting; expect plenty of fireworks then from concerned and interested stakeholders during the public comment segment!

See the complete listing of Community Meetings here.

The closest community meeting location to the Salmon Bay campus is scheduled for Wednesday October 14th at Ballard High School beginning at 6:30pm.

The October 8th FOSB meeting agenda includes a discussion of the assignment plan, especially as it affects our school, as well.  Lots of opportunities to stay informed and involved!  Please mark your calendars for one or more of these events.  If you have any questions contact FOSB Legislative Liaison Kelly Bryant.
