Direct Giving
Each year FOSB initiates a Direct Giving Campaign fundraiser to help bridge the gap between the budget The Seattle School District provides and the amount it takes to make each program the best it can be. Funds raised by FOSB help support Art, Math, Music, All-School social events, Special Projects and Supplies, Drama, PE, Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Science and more.
How does FOSB raise money for these programs? It is FOSB’s belief that a child’s job in school is to learn and grow, not to fundraise. Rather than having your child sell chocolate or wrapping paper to raise money, FOSB has two main fundraisers each year: the All-School Auction in the spring and this Direct Giving Campaign. Both these events are about the adult community of Salmon Bay School opening their hearts and wallets and giving something to support our school.
While the quantity of money we raise is important, PARTICIPATION is and always will be what makes our school strong. Our Direct Giving goal this year is to raise $25,000 for our children's education by November 30th, 2011. Your donation will impact each and every classroom in each and every grade. We are lucky enough to have a generous Salmon Bay family who has pledged to match the first $10,000 we raise with a $5,000 match. So when we raise $10,000 we actually raise $15,000!
You chose Salmon Bay for a reason. And we are grateful you did. Salmon Bay depends on you to make it the wonderfully inclusive, creative place it is. Please give today to make your child’s education the best it can be at Salmon Bay.
You can mail in or drop off your donation at school, and now you can donate online via Network for Good! Remember, your donation is tax-deductible!
Our Direct Giving Coordinator for 2011-2012 is Kate Banta Green, bantagreen@gmail.com.
