Garden Committee 2011 Spring Work Parties

Fellow Gardeners!

Wow! We had a successful work party on March 19th. I am so excited to have met some great new faces and see familiar ones! The sun was a PLUS! too! We had a great time weeding and light pruning(shaping) plants, picking up garbage, ahhhhh. It all feels soooo much better!

Thank you to Drew D., Thea D., Mike, Melissa, Natalie, Leah, Sophie, Owen A., Darcy, Owen G., Marta B., Jean L., Catherine, Lynn, Marcus, Sam S., Rob M.! You guys have really done an amazing job. Darcy, thank you for bringing your tasty pumpkin muffins, Leah your banana muffins were a hit. Everyone was well fed and warmed up with coffee!

Leah drove by the school twice already and gave a great report. So, drive by see what we did and maybe in April I can meet more of you! Still thinking sun! Hope you all have a great week! The next work party is April 16th same time, same place!

Next work party dates include: April 16th and 30th, May 21st and June 11th. We are also hoping to get a garden shed to store tools for those of you who happen to be in the neighborhood and feel a compulsion to do a little work.

Thanks! -- Jen M.

Evening Tour This Thursday Night -- Volunteers Needed

EVENING TOUR THIS THURSDAY NIGHT

If you are interested in seeing our evening tour for either the elementary program or the middle school program, this Thursday is your chance.  Elementary tour starts at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria and the Middle school program starts at 7:00.  Parking will be available in the lower field.  Please watch for unsuspecting students and kids.  Bring your student if they would like to get a sense of what goes on in other parts of the building.  With the tour in mind, we need volunteers for the below.

VOLUNTEER NEED!

We would love to feed the teachers dinner this Thursday night!

This Thursday, March 3rd, is the Salmon Bay All-School Evening Tour!  The Elementary Tour begins at 6pm, and the Middle School Tour begins at 7pm.  This is our only evening tour for families that are interested in enrolling in Salmon Bay for next school year.  Teachers stay all day, and we want them to be fed and ready for the tour!  Please let us know if you have a great salad, casserole, or dessert you would like to make and share!  We will need enough food for about 20 people.  We would love it delivered during the day.  Dinner will happen for the staff around 4:30.  We need….

  • salads
  • bread
  • protein dishes
  • water / pop / or tea and coffee
  • desserts

If you are able to provide part of a wonderful meal for the teachers, please send either Megan or Jessica an email….
