Principal's Note
Dear Salmon Bay Families:
I hope you realize you are a member of an amazing, incredible, and often unbelievable parent group at Salmon Bay School. As parents, you put the real meaning into the phrase “whole school community.” All the ways you support your student’s teacher, the classroom, school events, district involvement, as well as all the “extra” you do whenever you hear there is a need.
In my first weeks as a principal, I used to wake up in the middle of the night wondering, “What if…..or what if….” I still wake up occasionally with those questions, and I still wonder, but I’ve learned that I would always have the expertise, encouragement and plain, simple friendship of parents, always willing to problem solve, and celebrate. Just imagine: parents who love having a spelling bee, and raise $1400 for the school at the same time!
If you have not yet found that place for you, and are still hoping to get involved, here are some possibilities. You could get started this week!
- Come to the monthly parent group (FOSB) meeting in the library Thursday at 7:00 pm.
- Attend the district level PTSA meeting at the John Stanford Building, tonight at 6:30pm.
- Help our parent volunteers, Jessica Phillips (6-8) and Megan Ratcliffe (K-5) with School Tours, starting this Tuesday /Thursday, or with Neighbor Appreciation Day, Saturday February 12
- Attend theMARCH ON OLYMPIA TO SUPPORT PUBLIC SCHOOL FUNDING
Focus Day - February 21, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Thank you for being such an essential and giving group of the Salmon Bay School community.
Have a good week.
Jodee
