Principal's Note
Dear Salmon Bay Families:
Good bye to an old friend who served us well…….. our old (smaller) play structure has finally failed the test, and is no longer safe. Currently it is marked with a sign and yellow caution tape until the district can come and remove it. PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO YOUR STUDENT, AND REMIND THEM NOT TO CLIMB / PLAY ON IT BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL. (During school hours our playground supervisors will also remind them. You may be wondering what we will do with that empty space….eventually, after we get through the school budget cycle this month, we can meet with parents to discuss next steps.
BUDGET: It’s that time of year, and you are undoubtedly aware that Seattle School District is again facing a budget shortage. We have received our funding for next year, and will have to make cuts at Salmon Bay, but I think we can remain mostly in-tact, with some re-organizing, and a few smaller cuts. As soon as the BLT approves the budget, I will send out better specifics and particulars. I’m sure we will use our usual resourcefulness to continue as much as possible with the best that Salmon Bay has to offer.
Have a good week.
Jodee
