Thank You!

Dear Salmon Bay Families:

This week’s message is a BIG THANK YOU to all of you for the amazing support you’ve given to Salmon Bay in the past few weeks.  First, thanks for your attendance at your student’s conferences. Your involvement in your child’s work, in the very specifics of it, is crucial to their positive experience at school.  I hope your conference information gives you, in turn, more ways to talk about school with your child.

And a BIG THANK YOU for those parents who came in and re-tuned and spiffed up our marimbas.  The Salmon Bay marimba program is one of the biggest joys both for our students and community.

Another BIG THANK YOU for your support of our Fair Trade Fair and Pancake Breakfast.  We hope the idea behind Fair Trade, and supporting humanitarian groups underscores our classroom curriculum for students in building a world view and an awareness of issues in social justice.

We were excited to see how many of you made an effort to do your holiday shopping at the fair, and now for the next opportunity: THE UNIVERSITY BOOK STORE BOOK FAIR.  This event provides a percentage of all purchases that goes towards purchases of books for classrooms at Salmon Bay.  And, you can find a favorite item for someone on your holiday list!  Even more fun, are the events that Salmon Bay brings to the bookstore event (check specific times below in the events calendar.)

            Friday: a puppet show

            Saturday: the book title cake contest

            Sunday: Salmon Bay musicians

And remember: if you can’t make it to the bookstore, you can go on-line, order, and still designate the percentage to Salmon Bay!
